Dr. Shanelle Fields, LPC

Dr. Shanelle Fields is a native of Florence, South Carolina. Her education includes a BA in English Education from College of Charleston, a Masters in School Counseling from the Citadel Military College, and a PhD in Human Services and Counseling from Capella University. For the last 16 years, she has been a middle and high school English teacher and a Professional school counselor.

In November 2018, she completed her supervision to become an LPC and has opened a private practice in Summerville. Dr. Shanelle works to help others who are struggling with issues of self-esteem, grief, anxiety, and depression.  Due to her love of education and counseling, she has given many presentations, speeches, and motivational messages to encourage others. Her proudest accomplishment is raising her 13-year-old son as a single parent, working full-time and completing her doctorate. Dr. Fields knows what it is to be in a “stuck place.”

Her mottos are “Every day you have the chance to change two people’s lives, yours and someone else’s and to always remember You Are Enough!

Katrina Bell, LPCS, LPC

Mrs. Bell is a native of Charleston, SC and grew up in the Red Top Community. She has a B.S. in Sociology/Health from the College of Charleston, a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Webster University, and a specialty Master’s Degree in Gerontology (Elderly Aging).  She is licensed in SC, NC, GA and FL.

 

Mrs. Bell enjoys working with teenagers, women and young adults, but also works with couples. She also works with clients struggling with life transitions, grief/loss, stress from daily life, or finding the motivation to accomplish necessary next steps. Her focus is to help clients begin the process of moving forward and making positive changes towards a brighter future. She has many years of experience as a school-based mental health counselor and clinical therapist and has helped countless students and families build a tool-set to healthily manage their emotions, increase their self-esteem, and learn coping skills that will help them for the rest of their life.

 

She enjoys integrating her knowledge of education and mental health issues to help families problem solve and overcome personal issues and work towards positive professional, home and school experiences. She is dedicated to helping others improve their lives through education, insight, and change and is humbled to be a part of her clients’ journey towards reaching their goals through counseling.

Tita Johnson, LPCS, LPC, LAC, MAC, AADC

Tita Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over ten years of experience in the field. 

 

She became a counselor because she wanted to help individuals, families, and couples face challenges and to be able to walk with them through difficult situations. Her passion is helping children, adolescents, and adults heal from traumatic experiences and move towards a more fulfilling and empowered life.  She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), an LPC Supervisor (LPCS), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC), and a Certified EMDR Therapist.  

 

Mrs. Johnson has a wide range of experience that has led her to work in different settings with a variety of conditions. Some of her specialty areas include trauma, depression, anxiety, family counseling, and child and adolescent issues.

Donna M. White, LPCS, LPC, CCS, RYT

Donna is a licensed professional counselor/supervisor and a licensed addictions counselor. She believes we all have the ability, skills, and strength to solve our own problems, but sometimes we need a guide.  She is honored to be a part of your journey to best self.

Cheryl Spann Bright, MA, LPC

Cheryl Spann Bright is a Christian counselor and has worked with and provided services for individuals dealing with depression, anger issues, marital issues, individual and family grief/bereavement support, chronic health issues, work related issues and issues dealing with anxiety.

 

Mrs. Bright provides counseling services for Employee Assistance Program for various companies. Mrs. Bright also relies on a faith-based theoretical module, along with her educational training. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a graduate degree in Counseling. She believes in a holistic approach to therapy that addresses the biological, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the client.

Vera Brown, LPC

Vera Brown, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Grief Counselor, Retired Teacher, and Retired School Counselor.  She has a natural attraction to children and youth. However, Vera also has a finesse for working with adolescents and adults dealing with grief and loss, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders or stress-related conditions where one may feel overwhelmed and find it extremely difficult adjusting to a stressful event or change, just to name a few areas. 

 

In building relationships with students and their families, she recognized the need for mental health counseling in many of the youth. This catalyst convinced Vera to pursue a second Master’s Degree, this time in Mental Health Counseling, in addition to her Master’s Degree in Education.

She’s a firm believer that “you have to meet people where they are spiritually, emotionally, academically and every other area of their being... because broken crayons color quite beautifully.

Tashia Stackhouse-Geiger, MA, LPC

Tashia Stackhouse- Geiger is Licensed Professional Counselor at Let’s Figure it out Counseling.  Her goal is to guide you through resolving past trauma, support your journey of healing and facilitate self-exploration so that you can become the best version of you possible. She’s passionate about trauma and helping people heal from feeling “broken” or feeling like you’re exhausted from being strong.  Tashia is a firm believer that her job is to support, encourage and help you find clarity when you start to feel too full.

 

Tashia attended University of Phoenix for her undergraduate degree in psychology. In 2018 she graduated from Capella University with a Masters in Clinical Psychology with specializations in clinical counseling and forensic psychology.  She worked in substance use for over 3 years but her jam is working with individuals struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression and trauma. Shawnte Posley, LPCA

Shawnte Posley is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate that has been working in the mental health field for the past seven years. She is passionate about destigmatizing mental health care, and is particularly invested in creating a safe space for people of color to work with a therapist that looks like them and understands their lived experience.

 

She has a variety of experiences in the mental health field, including inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient community mental health, residential substance use treatment, college counseling, and working with Veterans. From these experiences, Shawnte has developed an interest in working with individuals that may be questioning or exploring their substance use. She also enjoys working with young adults and assisting them in navigating adulthood and exploring their identities, as well as helping individuals with anxiety to discover the root of their anxiety, and regain a sense of control in their lives. 

 

Shawnte believes that it is especially important to consider the whole person–mind, body, and spirit–as well as environmental factors, when helping clients to overcome their struggles. Shama Winston-Ford

Shama Ford Winston earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Charleston Southern University in SC and a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from the same university. At Riverbluff discipleship and counseling center, she completed her Practicum and Internships. Her work focuses on clients with anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship issues, self-esteem challenges, and trauma. She is trained in TF-CBT, EMDR, certified in Art Therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy Levels I and II. Art therapy is a key tool she uses, especially for trauma, including generational trauma.

 

Shama values authenticity and transparency, identifying as a therapist with lived experience (TLE). Her approach blends mindfulness, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral techniques, emphasizing the use of support systems, community resources, and mindfulness. She founded Disruptive Thinking Counselling to offer services to individuals aged 8 and up, couples, and groups.  Shama believes in the uniqueness of each person's story and its impact on their current experiences. Cultural considerations are integral to her practice as she helps individuals envision and achieve the life they desire.
